Writers Read with Chris Boucher

Bucky Lew should be more than a footnote. Google him and you’ll see he became the first Black pro basketball player in a white league when he took the floor for Lowell in 1902. Chris Boucher looked deeper and learned he later became the first coach, general manager, franchise owner, and lead referee. Join Chris as he talks about Lew’s achievements and the obstacles he faced as well as his neighborhood connection to the man whose full story has now been told for the first time.

Chris Boucher is a novelist who lives in Lowell. The Original Bucky Lew is his third book.
